Naval Officer Killed In Motorcycle Race |

A Petty Officer serving at HMS Sultan in Gosport has been killed in a motorcycle crash during the Isle of Man Manx Grand Prix. The other rider involved in the collision, a police officer, was also killed.
28 year old James Adam was from Ayrshire, Scotland. No spectators were hurt in the accident. |

Further work to clear vegetation, including some trees, from the disused railway line recommenced on 1 September to enable the first stage of construction of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Phase1, in compliance with the planning permission.
Trees will be inspected for bat roosts and bird nests before any work is carried out on them, and will only take place if there are no bats or unfledged birds present.

Portsmouth Residents To Have Say In New Transport Strategy For Region |

The 20-year strategy has been developed by the three councils of Portsmouth City Council, Hampshire County Council and Southampton City Council, working together as Transport for South Hampshire (TfSH).
Drop-in sessions are being held across Portsmouth where council staff will be on hand to provide information, answer any questions and seek seek residents views on the future of transport in Portsmouth and South Hampshire.

Attempted Robbery Outside Southsea Sports Centre |

Detectives from Portsmouth CID are investigating the attempted robbery of a man as he parked his car in Southsea. The 47-year-old pulled up in a silver Seat Alhambra outside the Wimbledon Park Sports Centre, Taswell Road, at around 11.45pm, Thursday, August 26.

New Heart Attack Treatment Launches At Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust |

Heart attack patients in Portsmouth and surrounding areas now have the benefit of a superior emergency treatment after it was launched around the clock at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
From today (Wednesday 1 September) Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust can now administer Primary Angioplasty - an emergency procedure - 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to people who come to the Cosham hospital suffering from a heart attack.
