The George Hotel in Queen Street, Portsea decided to have its name sign taken down for refurbishment, and asked the help of local pub historian George Hill to lend a hand.

Portsmouth City Council's cycle route from Henderson Road in Eastney to South Parade Pier is now in operation; however, is it the safest option for walkers, cyclists and motorists says the council?
The decision comes after after years of debate about whether cyclists should be allowed to cycle on the promenade and the second stage of the project - from South Parade Pier to Clarence Pier, is set to be completed in 2011.
